The “four filters” of the car refer to the car engine air filter, oil filter, fuel filter and cabin air filter. “Four filters” play an important role in filtering the air, engine oil, fuel and the cockpit on the car engine, thereby protecting the engine, improving the working efficiency of the engine and reducing wear and tear. Effective cleaning and maintenance of the “four filters” can give full play to the performance of the engine, reduce the failure rate of the engine, reduce fuel consumption, and is more conducive to prolonging the service life of the engine.
1. Air filter
Main function: Provide clean and sufficient air to help the engine burn. There is a lot of dust suspended in the air, mainly silicon dioxide, which is a substance harder than metal. The function of the air filter is to effectively filter the impurities in the air, thereby reducing the damage to the engine cylinder, piston rings, and valves. Wear and tear of parts. If an air filter that does not meet the requirements is used, the wear of the piston ring will increase by 3 times, the wear of the cylinder barrel will increase by 4 times, and the wear of the valve will increase by 8 times; turbochargers are also widely used in modern automobile engines. When the cleanliness and air flow cannot meet the requirements, the wear on the blades of the supercharger is also relatively serious, thereby affecting the air flow and further affecting the power of the engine and increasing fuel consumption.
Note: At present, most automobile engines use a dry air filter with a paper filter element of small mass, low cost, easy replacement, and high filtration efficiency. Under normal road conditions, clean it every 5,000 kilometers. When cleaning, take out the air filter element and pat the end face gently, and blow it out with compressed air to remove dust and debris on the element. Do not wash it with gasoline or water. The air filter must be replaced every 10,000-20,000 kilometers (depending on road conditions and operating environment).
2. Oil filter
Main function: Provide clean lubricating oil to the engine lubrication system. During the operation of the engine, mechanical impurities such as dust, metal wear debris, and carbon cleaning will continue to be mixed into the engine oil. At the same time, the oxidation of the air and combustion exhaust gas to the engine oil will also gradually cause the engine oil to produce colloids, and the mechanical impurities and colloids will mix. Oil sludge will also be formed, which will not only accelerate the wear of moving parts, but also easily cause blockage of oil passages.
Note: At present, most car engines use disposable oil filters, which cannot be removed and maintained. Will affect the quality of lubricating oil. The cycle of replacing engine oil and oil filter is generally 5000-8000 kilometers.
3. Fuel filter
Main function: Provide clean fuel for engine combustion. During the storage, transportation and filling process of fuel, it is inevitable that some impurities and water will be mixed in. These impurities will be brought into the fuel supply system and engine cylinder along with the fuel, and the cylinder will accelerate wear. Before the fuel enters the fuel pump, it must be filtered to ensure the normal operation of the fuel supply system.
Note: At present, most engines are equipped with disposable non-removable and washable paper filter element fuel filters, and the replacement cycle is generally 20,000~30,000 kilometers. The filter is marked with an arrow on the oil inlet and outlet, so do not install it backwards when replacing it.
4. Air conditioner filter
Main function: clean the indoor air environment of the car. The air filter is installed in the air conditioning system of the car, and its main function is to purify the air in the car interior. If the air conditioning filter is not replaced in time, it will not only affect the air flow, but also mildew and breed bacteria in a humid environment. Directly affect the respiratory system of passengers. At present, common air-conditioning system filters are mainly divided into ordinary filter elements and filter elements with activated carbon. The function of ordinary filter elements is mainly to filter general impurities; activated carbon filter elements have the function of absorbing odors, which can not only filter impurities in the air in the car, It can also absorb toxic odors from the air. Under normal circumstances, clean the cabin filter every 5,000 kilometers or 3 months, and replace the cabin filter every 20,000 kilometers or 12 months.
